lifecam vx-3000 driver download

Why i switched to vx-3000 ? There was a lot of reason,s simple in few words my logitech webcam is consistently creating problems and logitech support was not able to help me. So the result was that i switched to VX-3000. As i was an old user of webcam that was fifth since 90's. As my family is in another place and i have to communicate in both video and audio.
It is more dimunitive than my expectations. In photos it looks much bigger. Due to its base design, it is easy to put it on the desk at flat position  or can be hooked on monitor's top.
I have read a lot about the poor quality of the mic in numerous reviews so the quality of mic was a concern because audio is almost as valuable as the video. But fortunately the fear of mic was useless , i communicate more than an hour and there was no problem in the mic my family could hear my voice properly without any interruption.
The display resolution is 640x480, and i am quite comfortable with it. When i compared the resolution with vx-6000 at my friend's home, my friends webcam has heigher resolution but at the other hand it was,  of-course , double expensive. The video quality is very satisfactory and low light support worked better the previous Logitech Fusion i had.

On the top of the camera there is life call button but it usually create hurdle in trying to adjust the angle of the camera, I never use it instead i use Windows LIve Messenger. vx-3000 has two positions to move horizontally and vertically. It is quite difficult to move vertically to adjust the camera there is a need to use both hands but this stiffness is good in the sense that the cam never get out of position.The length of the cord is also suitable to move around.
One thing that lacks in this camera is sliding lens cover give the lens protection and for privacy also.The version of driver provided in the CD-ROM is 1.1 but i rather prefer to download the latest version 1.3 from the Microsoft website. I have no hesitation to say that "mission accomplished" by purchasing this web cam.

Windows Live Call Button Problem

The most of the webcam top is taken by this button , launches Windows Live Messengers Live Call feature and you can see who's onlline and who is not. if you don't want to work this button for you you can disable it by, simply rename IcePick.exe, found in C:\Program Files\Microsoft LifeCam\ (or wherever you installed the LifeCam drivers) to IcePick.ex_.
